  • What do you do to take care of your skin that most people don't?

I started my skincare routine early and never wavered. Back when I was 16, I had rosacea and my dermatologist said I needed to avoid alcohol, the sun, spicy foods, and wear sunscreen EVERY single day. I listened and have avoided alcohol, excessive sun exposure, spicy foods, and applied sunscreen daily even when nobody did back in the 90s. I also exfoliated with Paula’s Choice 2% BHA several times a week.

Now that I’m 40+, it’s been almost 25 years since that time and my skin looks better than it did when I was a teen. I’ve also experimented with other things such as AHAs, vitamin C, niacinamide, and soothing ingredients such as snail mucin, mugwort, and hyaluronic acid. I’ve also limited my consumption of red meat and sugar for health reasons, all of which also contribute to improved skin health. I could not be more surprised that after all these years, my interest in skincare and health has helped me to stop aging since that day at the dermatologist’s office!
