The symptom of pain anywhere in the region of the head or neck. It occurs in migraines (sharp, or throbbing pains), tension-type headaches, and cluster headaches. Frequent headaches can affect relationships and employment. There is also an increased risk of depression in those with severe headaches.
For normal headache below remedies may be useful.
Apple cider vinegar. Pour ¼ cup of apple cider vinegar into a large bowl, and then fill the bowl halfway with boiling water. Place a towel over your head so that it drapes over the bowl, trapping the steam, and hold your face over it.Make sure your face isn’t so close that it gets burned by the steam.Do this for 5-10 minutes, or when the water starts to cool down, breathing in and out deeply the whole time.
lemon and warm water. Drinking warm water mixed with juice squeezed from one-half of a lemon will reduce the intensity of a headache. This particular remedy is beneficial for headaches caused by gas in the stomach.
Inhale the smell of the cloves. Crush a few cloves gently and put them in a sachet or a clean handkerchief. Inhale the smell of the crushed cloves whenever you have a headache until you get some relief from the pain. You can also put 2 drops of clove oil in a tablespoon of coconut oil plus sea salt and gently massage your forehead and temples with it.
Cayenne powder. Dilute a 1/4 teaspoon of cayenne powder in 4 ounces of warm water. Soak a cotton swab in the solution apply the moist swab gently to the inside of each nostril until you can feel the heat.
Mustard powder. Add a bit of hot mustard powder to the water. "You can also place a washcloth dipped in ice-cold or hot water over your head for 5 minutes. Repeat the process several times".
Raw ginger root. Slice 3 slices off of a piece of raw ginger root, with each being roughly the size of a quarter. Gently simmer the pieces of ginger in 2 cups of water, covered, for 30 minutes.
Use something to remove the pieces of ginger and transfer to a mug, or if you prefer, leave them in. Sip slowly and breathe in the steam if you want.
Cinnamon. Grind some cinnamon sticks into a powder, and add some water to make a thick paste. Apply it on your forehead and temples and lie down for 30 minutes. Then wash it off with lukewarm water.
Almond oil or olive oil . Mix two or three drops in one tablespoon of almond oil or olive oil and massage your forehead with it. "You can even draw a foot bath of lavender oil and peppermint, since the hot water draws blood to your feet and the aroma relaxes you",
Peppermint oil and almond oil. Mix 3 drops of peppermint oil in one tablespoon of almond oil, or just add a little water and massage the temples or the back of your neck with it.
Ginger root tea. Steep ginger root for tea, or mix equal parts of ginger juice and lemon juice and drink up. You can consume this once or twice a day.
Kalonji oil. Rub kalonji oil on your forehead, relax, and wait for your headache to disappear. Nothing like natural home remedies!
